The last supper :)

Hi,

It's the last day before the challenge begins. Surprisingly, I am not planning on having some big 'last meal'...my thinking that a huge over-indulgence tonight will leave me felling extra awful tomorrow and more likely to procrastinate on the challenge. If I want a big blowout meal then it will have to wait until my birthday in 4 months' time...and it will be a celebration of my 4 stones weight loss!

A quick hello to Lucy and Kiira from the excellent http://www.minimins.com who are getting in on the challenge. Support from others is a big factor in determining success IMHO...be it in weight loss or any other challenge. We can do it!

If anyone else wants to join in the challenge then let me know...am happy to update everyone's progress on here too.

Here comes the sun

Gosh, I love the sun; it always makes me fell all happy and *woop woop*. It's going to get even warmer this week...lovely stuff. Or is it?

I can't enjoy the sunshine as much when I end up dripping in sweat just trying to put my shoes on. Ok I'm not the biggest of guys, but I am still much heavier than I should be. This sunshine is a perfect reminder to me as to why this challenge must be followed through - life will be sooo much better when I have lost weight.

Reminders and inspirations will be crucial to my success, so tonight I am drawing up a list of things I can use along the journey to remind me of my ultimate target.

The week before

Hi everyone (when I get some readers that is!),

I'm an average guy living in England who happens to have eaten far too much and got fat...just how did that happen? If only calories didn't exist in chips (fries)!

I have set up this personal challenge because I find that setting myself goals is the best way for me to get motivated, and boy do I need it! We all know the health benefits of losing weight so this blog isn't going to be about that, instead it is more about the emotions, the experiences, and the cold hard numbers on the scales. Oh, and the inches on the measuring tape. On the 1st of july I will detail all these along with posting a photo of my belly :)

I'm going for a checkup with my GP before I begin this challenge; I am aiming to lose the weight as safely as I can. Achieving the challenge's end goal is important to me but I'm not going to take silly risks and put myself in danger for the sake of the challenge. Keeping the weight off long term is the ultimate goal, this challenge is more like a kick start to that new life.

Hope you are all well.

James
